I have decorated this box with a technique to give the effect of old leather, using wooden cut outs of a goddess symbol and decorative corners for the central decoration, using gilding wax to add extra visual interest. Around the edges I've used a 3D medium to give the illusion of paper pages. I have put the details purposely on what should be the back of the box so I could make it symmetrical.
